Mrs. Jeanette D. Crawford was born January 7, 1958 to the late James A. Davis and the late Maie Noie Davis.
Jeanette was a proud member of Valdosta High School’s R.O.T.C. program. She was a graduate of VHS Class of 1976 and was also a loyal Valdosta Wildcat Football fan. After graduating from high school, Jeanette married the love of her life, Owen H. Crawford on November 27, 1977. She was a dedicated and hard working employee of Valdosta State University where she retired after many years of service.
Jeanette loved the Lord with all her heart and was a faithful and active member of Woods Chapel AME where she served in many capacities: member of the Hunter-Johnson Women’s Missionary Society, Superintendent for the Valdosta South District Church, Christian Education Director and Class #2 Church School Teacher.
Jeanette transitioned from labor to reward Sunday, December 27, 2020.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her in-laws: Floyd Crawford and Willa M. Crawford; one sister: Patricia Ann Burgman; grandparents: Lucuis & Glady Davis and Thelma & Joe Burgman; aunts and uncles: EJ Burgman, Nathaniel Burgman, Sadie Carter, Mary Eady, Florence Payne, Sarah Burgman and Wallace Hunter.
Her life will forever be cherished in the life of her beloved husband: Owen H. Crawford; her three children: Zita ), all of Valdosta, GA; four sisters: Karen Davis (Michael), Katherine Johnson (Charles), Marjorie Davis and RoseMary Brown (Kelvin); two brothers: James Davis (Kathy) and Lucious Davis (Debra); aunts: Henrietta DMalaychan (Mohamed), Travis Crawford (Juanita) and Xavier Crawford (Dakotaavis, Della Fayson and Martha Burgman; special sisters and brothers in-law: David & Delores Oliver, Floyd Crawford, Yvonne Bonner and Rose Lester; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life graveside for the late Mrs. Jeanette Davis Crawford will be Sunday, January 3, 2020, 1:00 p.m., Hunter Cemetery, Ousley Rd., Valdosta, GA.
Public viewing will be Saturday, January 2, 2021, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.
All those who wish to pay their respect in person must wear a mask during visitation and at the gravesite.
