Ms. Johnnie Sirmons

Johnnie Ann Shearry was born August 26, 1949 to the late J.C. and Laura Shearry.

She was educated in the Valdosta School System and was a graduate of Pinevale High School. She worked for 19 1/2 years at ITT Metal Products and later was employed with the Valdosta School System.

She was a faithful member of the West Adair/Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ Family.

On Wednesday, May 13, 2015, God called home an angel. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed by all.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Sam and Fronnie Shearry, Rolin and Amie Ruth Callaway; her parents: J.C. and Laura Shearry; and one brother: Kenneth Shearry.

She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter: Carisa Gaines (Marcus) of Cumming, GA; one granddaughter: Caylin M. Gaines of Cumming, GA; three sisters and four brothers: James C. Shearry, Sr. (Francine) of Valdosta, GA, Mary A. Shearry of Valdosta, GA, Benjamin F. Shearry, Sr. of Renton, WA, Frankie Shearry, Sr. (Coretha) of Lake Park, GA, Micky Sherry, Sr. (Violet) of Valdosta, GA, Vickey Reed (Glenn, Sr.) of Valdosta, GA, and Gail Carter (Michael) of Leesburg, GA; two sisters-in-law: Rebecca Suits of Boise, ID and Selena Houston of Valdosta, GA; a host of nieces and nephews: Adrina Walker (John), Frankie Shearry, Jr. (Donya), James C. Shearry, Jr., Jennifer Thompson (Timothy, Sr.), Dafina Turner (Geoffrey), Benjamin Shearry, Jr., Micky Sherry, Jr. and Michael Sherry; a special niece and nephew: Glenn B. Reed, Jr. and Chateris M. Reed; one aunt: Lillie Murray (Joe); one uncle: Calvin Callaway; three godchildren: Jessica Battles, Katie and Blanton Ball; special friend and caregiver: Annie Ruth Major; caregivers: Victoria Finniessee and Ms. Willie Pearl Register; special friends: Robin Bass, Dorothy Dye and Laverne Thomas; and a host of family and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Ms. Johnnie Sirmons will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Woodlawn Forrest Church of Christ.

Evang. Leroy Butler will officiate.

Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Public viewing will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 from 10:00am - 8:00pm in Godfrey Funeral Home.
