Mr. Johnny Edward Groover

Johnny Edward Groover was born August 04, 1956 in Quitman, Georgia to the late Mr. Homer Edward Groover and the late Mrs. Henrietta Maxwell Silas.

He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. His family will always remember his special smile, caring heart and warm embrace. He was a man of strength and honor. God took his strength from a mountain and his majesty from a tree. He took the wisdom of ages and the faith of a mustard seed. He combined these qualities and when there was nothing more to add—God knew His masterpiece was complete and placed them all in this man.

Resting where no shadows fall in peaceful sleep he awaits us all. On Wednesday, July 15, 2015, Johnny E. Groover was granted eternal rest.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two of his sisters: Bertha Lee Silas and Betty Harvey; and one brother: Steve Maxwell.

He leaves his legacy of love and devotion to his wife of forty years: Mrs. Corine S. Groover of Hahira, GA; his five children: Eric Simmons (Tara) of Valdosta, GA, Sharon Harris (Eddie James) of Griffin, GA, Richard Groover (Donya) of Jacksonville, FL, Darrell Groover (Janel) of Valdosta, GA, and Mary Davis (Richard) of Valdosta, GA; one sister: Joann Silas of Savannah, GA; two brothers: Richard Silas of Quitman, GA and James Silas (Francis) of Quitman, GA; twenty one grandchildren who adored him greatly; his seven loving great-grandchildren; special nephew: Tyrone Maxwell; his special niece: Rosey Mobley; his two special granddaughters: Corine D. Groover of Hahira, GA and Sharon L. Groover of Hahira, GA; best friend: Robert McEady of Lakeland, GA; five sisters in-law; one brother in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mr. Johnny Edward Groover will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 2:00pm from the sanctuary of the Valdosta Church of the Nazarene.

Lonnie Grant is the pastor.

Lee Barnes will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.
