Juanita Evelyn Jennings Howard

Juanita Evelyn Jennings Howard was born October 22, 1919 in Cochran, GA to the late Mattie Banner Jennings and the late Joseph Jennings, Sr.

Juanita was a virtuous woman who served her husband, her family, her friends, and her neighbors with a gentle and loving spirit. She knew how to create an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love. She was a woman of worth and beauty inside and out—a inner beauty that only comes from Christ.

Juanita served God with all of her heart, mind, and soul. She greatly rejoiced in the Lord and her soul was joyful in her God; for He had clothed her with the garments of salvation and had covered her with the robe of righteousness. She was a faithful member of Marthann Baptist Church in Cochran, GA for over 50 years.

On Saturday, November 25, 2017, God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw Juanita’s precious face. He closed her weary eyelids and whispered, “Peace be thine”.

In addition to her parents, Juanita is preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Cornelious Howard; one daughter: Beatrice Brown; her three sisters: Leila M. Butler, Emma L. Coley and Thereisa Veal; her four brothers: Joseph Jennings, Jr., Madison Jennings, Henry Jennings and Harrison Jennings and two grandchildren: Jeffery Brown and Debra Brown.

Juanita leaves to mourn yet cherished precious memories to her daughter: Georgia M. Hughes of Valdosta, GA; eight grandchildren: Gregory Hughes, Darryl Hughes, Dwayne Hughes, Marcus Brown, Gary Brown, Bridgett Brown, Tracey Brown, and Matthew Brown; twenty nine great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mrs. Juanita Evelyn Jennings Howard will be Saturday, December 02, 2017, 11:00 A.M., from the sanctuary of Martha Ann Baptist Church, Cochran, GA.

Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
