Kasey Yolanda Phillips

Kasey Yolanda Phillips, age 42, was born on July 17, 1971, to the late Geneva Dailey and Charles Henry Flucas in Berrien County, Nashville, GA.

She was a 1989 honor graduate of Hyde Park High School in Boston, Massachusetts. She later received an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Valdosta Technical College in 1994.

She was an avid lover of music and was a faithful member of the Church at Pine Hill where she served along with the Praise and Worship Ministry, the Mass Choir, the GAP ministry, the Dance Ministry and was a youth Sunday School and Bible Study teacher. Pine Hill will always remember her song of declaration: “Don’t Wait ‘Til The Battle Is Over, Shout Now—Hallelujah!”

Kasey was a woman of courage and strength. She was a warrior and a worshipper filled with a living hope, kept by God’s grace.

On Friday, September 20, 2013, God declared that her course was finished.

Kasey leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Min. Taurence Phillips of Valdosta, GA; three children: Alonza Flucas, Ashleigh Phillips and Ah’leesa Phillips of Valdosta, GA; her step-father: Conward Shaw; father: Charles Henry Flucas; four sisters: Sandy Hosea, Virginia Flucas, Loretta Griffin (Tim), and Shalina Norwood (Andre) of Valdosta, GA; three brothers: Roderick Dailey (Gayle), Danny Shaw and Clifton Flucas (Maggie); a host of aunts and uncles: Joyce Johnson, Marshetta Dailey, Joe Dailey, Wayne Dailey, Oliver Dailey, Hanson Dailey, Clyde Dailey, Clifford Hudson and Danny Dailey; three grandchildren; two sisters in-law; one brother in-law; spiritual friend: Evang. Angela King, the Church at Pine Hill, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The homegoing celebration for the late Mrs. Kasey Phillips will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Union Cathedral.

Bishop Wade S. McCrae is the pastor.

Pastor Alex Bunion will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Public viewing will be held Friday, September 27, from 10:00am - 8:00pm in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.
