Kimberly Latrelle Willis Smith born November 19, 1973, in Valdosta, Georgia, is the daughter of Erma Howard and Clarence Willis (Mable).
As a child, Kim was very inquisitive and had a quest for learning. Because of her zeal for knowledge, during her senior year in high school, Kim was awarded The Katherine Woods Scholarship (a four year scholarship for students majoring in education). Kim received her BA from Kennesaw State University and her Masters from Georgia State University. She was employed by the Georgia Department of Education as an educator in Cobb and Gwinnett County.
On Monday, August 17, 2015, God looked around His garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw Kim’s precious face.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Coleman Searcy, Agnes Jones Searcy and Clarence Willis, Sr.; and one uncle: Willis C. Searcy.
Kimberly leaves her legacy of love to her precious baby girl whom she loved and adored: Madison Smith of Kennesaw, GA; her mother: Erma Howard of Acworth, GA; her father: Clarence Willis (Mable); her two sisters: Javonnda Boateng of Acworth, GA and Stacey Willis of Valdosta, GA; her two brothers: Zachary Howard of Acworth, GA and Avery Willis of Valdosta, GA; her grandmother: Luella Willis; her two aunts: Fannie Jones and Mary Kelsey; her six uncles: James Willis, David Willis, Tommy Willis, Henry Willis, Bishop Clarence Wells (Marian), Curtis Willis; her two nieces: Shanarra and Eboni; one nephew: Travis; two great-nieces: Jazmin and Violeta; one great-nephew: Isaac; one sister in-law: Marshauna Smith; father of Madison: Deronte Smith, and a host of relatives and friends.
The celebration of life for the late Kimberly Latrelle Willis Smith will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of Grace Victory Church.
Minister Robert Daniels is the pastor.
Minister Waymon Roberts will officiate.
Interment will follow in Pallbearers Cemetery.
