Kirk Eugene Russell

Kirk Eugene Russell, was born on March 27, 1934, to the union of David Russell and Louise Russell.

He lived with his parents until he was six months old, when his mother died. He was raised by his Uncle Marvin and Aunt Mamie.

He was raised in North Texas and graduated from Prairie View University. He was very athletic, playing all sports and was an exceptional baseball player. He played in the minors and often said, if had he lived in a different time he would have made it to the majors. He was an avid reader and read everything he could get his hands on.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 through 1955. His much loved and cherished daughter, Sharon K. Lewis, was born while he was in service.

He worked his dream job as a pharmaceutical representative at Abbott Laboratories for over twenty-six years and found long time friends in his coworkers.

He married his beloved wife, Eileen Russell in March, 1979. She became the step-mother of Sharon K. Lewis and he became the step-father of Rick Aaron, III.

He leaves behind to mourn, his wife Eileen; daughter: Sharon Lewis (Archie Lewis Sr); step-son: Richard (Rick) Aaron; siblings: Mary Sue Cooks and Betty George; mother in-law: Muriel Green; sisters in-law: Diane Rice (Tom Wells), Tamura Powe-Green (Kevin), and Cynthia Butler (Kevin); special cousins: Georgia May Dillworth, Wilma Deckard and Thelma Joe Patterson; grandchildren: Tammy Lewis, Archie Lewis, Jr. (Vern), Brandon Aaron, Cameron Aaron, Rikki Aaron, Christopher Aaron, Alexis Aaron and Lauren Aaron; great-grandchild: Jamesia Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, associates and colleagues to remember and carry on his spirit.

The celebration of life for the late Mr. Kirk Eugene Russell will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of Grace Fellowship Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Pastor Joel Melton will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.
