Lee Marvin Jones

Lee Marvin Jones, age 52, of Valdosta, GA, departed this life on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center from a massive heart attack.

He was born March 20, 1960 in Lowndes County, GA to Albert Lee Jones, Sr. and the late Mary Nell Townsend Jones. He graduated from Lowndes High School in 1978. He served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1985. He served at Darmstadt, Germany; Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA; South Korea and Fort Campbell KY. He was employed by Southern Building Supply until his death. During his spare time, he enjoyed doing automotive work.

In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by ; one brother: Milton Jones; one brother in-law: Lawrence Williams and a special nephew: Christopher Jones.

Lee Marvin leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Margaret (Marie) Phillips Jones of Valdosta, GA; his father: Albert Lee Jones, Sr. (Emma) of Kissimmee, FL; two daughters: Anitra R. Jones and Shayla Jones Hutchins (Harold) of Valdosta, GA; one son: Antwan R. Jones of Dover, DE; six grandchildren: Akia Jones, Josiah Jones, Micah Jones-Hill, Jason Wilson, Jr., Nicholai Keeling and Aiden Jones; seven step-children: Billy Evans (Rosa), Ora Fields (Willie), Sammie Evans, Sr. (Alicia), Anthony Evans, Sr. (Lena), Terrence Evans, Sr. (La’Trell), Kimberly Phillips and Kelly Moore (Vernon); four special grandchildren: Jaeden Phillips, Jazmyne Phillips, Amiyah Moore and Aaleigha Moore; three brothers: Albert Lee Jones, Jr. (Debra), Antonio Jones (Clarencia), and Derrick Jones (Naomi); three sisters: Norma Jean Jones Williams, Leona Jones Williams (Clarence) and Annette Jones Hargett (Willie); one very special little sister: Erica Johnson (Yaphet); one very special little brother: Elijah James; nephews: Larry Williams, Albert Lee Jones III, Brian Williams, Eric Davis, Willie Williams, Devaris Williams, Antonio Jones, Kias Jones, Derrick Jones, Jr., Murice Sirmans, Jaylinn Sirmans, Rashon Jones and Jaeden Phillips; nieces: Erica Jones, Twanna Jones, Chelsea` Brown, Shakeema Jones, Kendra Hargett, Jada Jones and Jazmyne Phillips; thirteen great nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

The homegoing celebration for Mr. Lee Marvin Jones will be held Sunday at 2:00pm from the sancutary of Southside Church of Christ.

Bro. John W. Iverson, Sr. will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
