Mrs. Leila Mcfarland

January 2, 1925 — September 12, 2015

Leila McFarland, the daughter of the late Will "Bud" and Lena Tucker, was born January 2, 1925 in Valdosta, Georgia.

She departed this life on Saturday, September 12, 2015.

She grew up on the Tucker Family Farm in Clyattville, Georgia where she experienced the love of a large family and learned the value of serving others.

She was surrounded by five brothers on the farm: Johnny B., Glover, Eddie B., and the twins, Ansel and Ander. Their children and grandchildren continued to be a source of love for her until her death. She was preceded in death by all siblings except, Eddie B., who is 93 years old and lives comfortably.

She was a devoted member of the Southside Church of Christ, her second family, and was in fellowship there until her health declined.

As a young woman she married Henry Davis. That union was blessed with three children: Earl (Pearl), Theresa (deceased), and Clarence (Mary). Later in life she married L.B. "Bossman" McFarland and was blessed with her fourth child, LaFaye (Steve).

Mrs. McFarland worked on the maternity ward at Moody Air Force Base for over 30 years where she provided comfort and care to multitudes of mothers and their babies. After retirement, she continued to provide in-home care to people in need.

She leaves to celebrate her life and continue her legacy her children and grandchildren. Earl's children are Michael Davis (Kim) and Michelle Dalton (Derrick). Theresa's children are Rodrick Hubbard (Nicole), Cheryl Hubbard, and Constance Anderson. Clarence's children are Ykama Wilson (John), Francis Davis, and Jeremy Davis. Those who will also continue her legacy include many great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Leila McFarland will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 2:00pm from the sanctuary of Southside Church of Christ.

Bro. John Iverson will officiate.

Interment will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
