Leo Carter was born April 12, 1935, in Naylor, GA to the late Willie C. Carter and the late Estella Roberts Carter.
Leo Carter was a hardworking man who believed in providing for his family and meeting their needs. He retired from Brockway Standard Inc. in Homerville, GA, after many years of dedicated service. A true outdoorsman, all year round, observing nature is where he could be found. Like a force a of nature, he had an iron will, he was a man of strength and determination until the very end.
After working and toiling for many years, God granted this loving soul eternal rest from pain, sorrow and tears — Thursday, March 10, 2016.
In addition to his parents, Leo is preceded in death by a daughter: Estalena Carter; and two brothers: Willie Carter, Jr. and Johnny Salph.
He leaves precious memories to his wife of over 60 years: Evelyn Ratley Carter; two daughters: Avie Nell Camon and Evelyn Lois Carter, both of Lakeland, GA; two sons: Leon Carter of Valdosta, GA and Alvin Carter (Phyllis) of Lakeland, GA; his two sisters: Rosetta Mathis and Verdie Oxford, both of Lakeland, GA; his two brothers: Thomas Carter of Tampa, FL and Charlie Carter (Ernestine) of Naylor, GA; fifteen grandchildren whom he adored: Darnell, Cornelius, Isaac, Eric, Roslyn, Rodney, Nakia, Deon, Dianca, Brandon, Clifton, Shalonda, Donte, Lakevis, and Jamaris; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
