Lillian: Innocent,Pure, Beauty

Lillian Jackson Hart was born March 3, 1932, to the late Leila Sample-Jackson and the late Willie James Jackson in Valdosta, GA.

She was educated in the Valdosta Public School System.

She retired from Valdosta State University. Recognizing her gift of caring for people, Lillian knew that being a caregiver was indeed her calling, which she did with great passion.

Because Lillian was raised to love her family, work hard and to put others first, she girded herself with honor and strengthened her ability with patience. She was wise, giving, thoughtful and kind in all her ways.

She loved her family and above all, she loved God. She was an active member of Triedstone Holiness Church of God. Lillian’s house was always known as the “house of plenty” - plenty of laughs, plenty of food and plenty of love.

A heartwarming smile was hers until the Lord called her unto eternal rest, Sunday, November 17, 2013.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters: Leila Bess and Ora Lee Burgman and four brothers: Henry Jackson, Charles Jackson, Calvin R. Jackson and Wilbur Jackson.

Lillian leaves her legacy of love to her four daughters: Rine Hart Riddick (James) of Lithonia, GA, Cynthia Hart Carter (Ronald) of Hollywood, FL, Johnnie Lissimore of Lawrenceville, GA and Linda Lissimore of Valdosta, GA; one son: Leroy Lissimore of Atlanta, GA; two sisters: Nancy Raines of Jersey City, NJ and Maggie Carter of Hahira, GA; one brother: Freddie Jackson (Louvenia) of Hahira, GA; six grandchildren: Elise, James, Travis, Qunea, Chandrea and Ronald II; four great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Lillian Hart will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Morning Star Baptist Church.

Dr. William C. Morgan is the pastor.

Elder Ronald Carter will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at Godfrey Funeral Home for Moments of Reflections.
