Lillie Viola Greene was born August 19, 1940, in Lowndes County to the late James Arthur Lester and the late Viola Robinson Lester.
Lillie was a very sweet person who always took care of others and placing their needs before her own. She knew how to create an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love for her family and friends. She worked willingly with her hands while employed by South Georgia Medical Center in the housekeeping department and retired after 18 years of loyal service. She nurtured her son, Willie, whom she loved and her grandchildren whom she adored with care and wisdom.
She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind, body and soul. During her early years of Christian service, she was a member of St. Mark MBC and later joined St. Mary MBC.
Always a smile, instead of frown. Always a hand, when one was down. Always true, thoughtful and kind, wonderful memories Lillie left behind on Monday, January 15, 2018.
In addition to her parents, the late James Arthur and Viola Robinson Lester, she is preceded in death by three brothers: Eddie Lester, Albert Lester and Willie James Lester; one sister-in-law: Carrie Lester and two step-children: Marlene Greene and Kenny Greene.
Lillie leaves fond memories to her husband: Johnny Greene of Valdosta, GA; her son: Willie Lester (Thomasa) of Naylor, GA; two grandchildren: Brandi Brooklin and Malachi Payne; two great-grandchildren: Meleik Brooklin and Cyion McKyer; nine step-children: Roderick Greene, Mathis Greene (Anatasia), Sherry Greene, Johnny Ruth Greene, Genise Greene; aunts and uncles: Martin Robinson (Dora), Ann Callaway, Edna Boykin, Lottie Lester; four sisters-in-law: Shirley Broadnax, Eloise Lester, Cynthia Lester, and Peggy McPherson (Johnny); three brothers-in-law: L.J.
