Louise Copeland Taylor

Louise Copeland Taylor was born December 13, 1920 to the late George and Margaret Stroud Copeland, Barney , GA.

She attended the public schools in Brooks County, GA. At an early age she accepted Christ at New Hope Baptist Church, Morven, GA, under Rev. Chapton.

On July 2, 1946 she moved to Valdosta, GA where she began employment. In 1947, she joined Saint James Baptist Church, Valdosta under the leadership of Pastor W. H. Byrd Sr. She served faithfully at St. James until January 5, 1972. In 1973 she joined St. Timothy AME Church, Valdosta, GA. She worked at various jobs and retired from Valdosta State University in 1986. However, she continued to work for Ms. Bobbie T. Mullis and Mark Renfroe until failing health in 2008. On November 23, 2013, God called his faithful servant home.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister: Georgia Marietta (Mae) Gilbert and brother in-law: Meadows Gilbert of Barney, GA.

She leaves to mourn her passing one nephew: Jerry C. Gilbert (Gloria) Barney, GA; one great-niece: Monica Y. Dennis (Todd) Stratford, CT; one great nephew: Erick D. Gilbert (Bernadetta), Ellenwood, GA; two great-great nephews: Isaiah J. Dennis, Stratford, CT and Jaylen K. Gilbert, Ellenwood, GA; one great-great niece: Amayah R. Dennis, Stratford, CT, and one step-daughter: Patricia Taylor Coleman.

She also leaves to cherish her memory a god-son: Kenneth Carnegie (Lillie C) and their children: Eshone and Kenneth Ronald II, and grandchild: Trey Carnegie all of Stone Mountain, GA; special friends: Bobbie Mullis, Authorine Carnegie, Gladys Gross, Eula Lee Hunter, Mary Kolson, Louise Simmons, Henrietta Larry and their families, and a host of other cousins, friends and church family.

Graveside service for the late Mrs. Louise Copeland Taylor will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013, at 2:00pm in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Rev. Nathaniel Brown will officiate.
