Mrs. Lucille Williams Lamb

September 29, 1915 — November 1, 2014

Lucille Williams Lamb was born September 29, 1915 in Bemiss, Georgia to the late Henry G. Williams and the late Mattie Goodman Williams.

She received her education in the Lowndes County School System. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Mt. Vienna AME Church. After moving to New Jersey in 1950, she became a member of Second Baptist Church in Belleville, NJ. Upon return to Georgia in 1970, she joined St. John Baptist Church.

On November 1, 2014, God called Lucille to a greater sunrise.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of seventy two years: Syrophine Lamb, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two children: Rev. Syrophine Lamb, Jr. and Mattie Ruth Lamb Christie; one granddaughter: Nicole Gabriele Lamb Ives (Jeffery); four grandsons: Ryan Lamb, Jason Lamb, Carl Louis Christie II (Adrienne), and Ronald Irvin Christie (Jennifer); three great-grandsons: Samuel, Benjamin, and Luke Ives; two sisters: Anita Dumas and Rutha May Franklin (Willie T.); one brother: Clarence Williams; a very special former son in-law: Carl Louis Christie, Sr.; a very special grandson in-law: Jeffrey Ives; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Lucille Williams Lamb will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2:30pm from the sanctuary of Morning Star Baptist Church.

Dr. Williams C. Morgan will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Charles Knight Cemetery in Lakeland, Georgia.

Public viewing will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at Godfrey Funeral Home from 10:00am - 8:00pm.
