Mrs. Luella Burgman Simmons

Luella Burgman Simmons was born December 18, 1932, in Naylor, Georgia, to the late Collie and Viola Jones Burgman.

Luella was a virtuous woman filled with patience, humility and most of all love. She taught her children the ways of God. She nurtured them with the love of Christ, disciplined them with care and wisdom and trained them in the way they should go. She served her family, friends, and her neighbors with a gentle and loving spirit. She used hospitality to minister to those around her. She had a inner beauty that only comes from Christ.

Luella was a woman of great faith. She served God with all of her heart, mind, and soul. She sought His will for her life and followed His ways.

On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, Luella was lifted unto eternal rest. Resting where no shadows fall, in peaceful sleep she awaits us all.

In addition to her parents, Luella is preceded in death by her sisters: Elizabeth Howell, Arrina Woods, Avenell Belcher, and Vernell Foster; and her brothers: Clarence Burgman and Verney Burgman.

Luella leaves to cherish fond memories to her three children whom she loved dearly: Alphonso Simmons (Beverly), LueNell Armstrong (James) and Alfreddie Simmons (Anita), all of Lake Park, GA; ten grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mrs. Luella Burgman Simmons will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of Southside Church of Christ.

Bro. John Iverson is the minister.

Bro. Earnest Carter, Jr. will officiate.

Interment will follow in Harrington Rest Cemetery.
