Micah Elias Davis was born May 29, 1976, in Madrid, Spain to Johnny Davis and Deborah B. Sirmans.
As a military child, Micah lived in various cities and countries. Micah continued his education in the Valdosta City School System, where he played football from 1991-1993 for the Valdosta Wild Cats under Coach Nick Hyder and was known by his teammates as “Nitro”. He moved on to graduate from Chatman County Board of Education (Hinesville, GA) in 1994.
Micah worked at South Georgia Stucco as a construction worker with his stepfather. He also worked at U.S. Security in Macon, GA until his health began to fail.
Micah was a family-oriented man who loved sports and various family gatherings. But most all, Micah could not wait to attend church on Sunday mornings (St Phillips-Jones CBC) followed by great cooking from his favorite chef, his mother. Micah has always had a big heart and was very comical. He loved to hug and laughed so much that his smile would brighten any darkened room.
Dedicated to the Lord at a very young age, Micah was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost. He understood what it meant to have a personal and authentic relationship with God, until the day he transitioned. Micah will always be remembered as articulate, and a decent man, who was kind, full of passion, laughter and life. He taught us all how to appreciate the importance of family and completing God’s mission. In the end, Micah was COMPLETE. His motto was “I am my brother’s keeper”. To his son, he would say, “Matthew I want you to be ten times better than me”. Before ending any conversation while speaking to his princess, he would say “BLACK IS"…..Hannah would only answer back, BEAUTIFUL” and he would say, “Because YOU are so beautiful.”
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, John and Marie Davis, Dr. Eddie L. and Anna Pearl Kinchen Butts, great-grandparents Willie Mae and Louis T. Boyd, Joe and Lady Bird Carter, Joe Kinchen, Bishop Eddie L. and Jestine Butts and his beloved Uncle Telecia R.
