Mother Ethel Beal Lewis was born February 28, 1949, in Terrell County, GA, to the late Dan Beal, Sr. and the late Vary Hammond Beal.
As described by her family, Mother Ethel Beal Lewis was a virtuous woman. She was loving, trustworthy, nurturing, dependable, and had a heart of gold. Hospitality was her ministry. She knew how to create an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love for her family and friends. She loved and adored her grandchildren. When not entertaining family and friends, she loved listening to music, watching Sci-Fi movies or her favorite movie: The Christmas Story.
Mother Lewis loved the Lord and her church family, St. Mark MBC, with all her heart where she served as a mother of the church. She was a woman of worth and inner beauty that only comes from Christ.
On Thursday, June 25, Mother Lewis declared unto the Lord, “I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand…I have finished my course.”
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister: Fleta Oates and two brothers: Charlie “Pete” Beal and Carvin Beal, Sr. and one brother who followed her in death: Deacon George Beal.
Mother Ethel Beal Lewis leaves to celebrate her life and to cherish precious memories, her children: Willie James Lewis, Jr. (Lisa) of Jacksonville, FL, Kimberly Denise Lewis (Don) of Valdosta, GA, Adrian Lewis of Jacksonville, FL and Sharde Williams (Armond) of Valdosta, GA; two brothers: Dan Beal, Jr. (Christine) of Albany, GA and Adolphus Beal (Julia) of Atlanta, GA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law; a special friend: Dolores Peak; close friend: Velma Miller; caretaker and friend: Ms. Christine; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Graveside Services for the late Mother Ethel Beal Lewis will be Friday, July 3, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at Pallbearers Cemetery, Valdosta, GA.
Dr. John S. Manning will officiate.
Public viewing will be Thursday, July 2, 2020, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
All those who wish to pay their respect in person must wear a mask during visitation and at the gravesite.
