Mother Carrie E. Sirmons

January 4, 1934 — September 8, 2019

Lakeland

Mother Carrie E. Sirmons was born January 4, 1934, in Lakeland, GA, to the late Rev. Lewis Sanders Wrice and the late Georgia Wright Wrice.

She was reared in a Christian home where Psalm 1 and Psalm 121 was the family’s motto. This child became a virtuous woman who served her family, her friends, and her neighbors with a gentle and loving spirit. She was very supportive, caring and compassionate. She created an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love and used hospitality to minister to those around her. She cheerfully transported and assisted the elderly. Mother Sirmons became a God fearing bold soldier for the Lord. Mother Sirmons held daily prayer services in her home for the community and started Wednesday night prayer meetings in the homes. She was also a member of the gospel group, The Sermonettes. In her early years, she served faithfully as Deaconess and choir member at New Bryant MBC and Evans Temple in Lakeland, GA. Later she     became a member of St. Mary MBC. After retirement, she became a pianist. Mother Sirmons served faithfully in her church and throughout the community proclaiming the Gospel and winning souls for the Lord.

On Sunday, September 8th, the Lord declared, “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

In addition to her parents, Mother Sirmons is preceded in death by her husband, the late Mr. Arthur Sirmons, Sr.; one son: Robert Lee Sirmons; and four brothers: Dolphus Wrice, George L. Wrice, Sr., Robert Wrice, and Oren Wrice.

Left to celebrate her life and to carry her legacy of faith are her ten children whom she loved and adored: James Alton Sirmons (Sylvia) of Melbourne, FL, Eddie Bernard Sirmons (Peggy) of Wichitia, TX, Elder Arthur Sirmons, Jr. (Donna), Beatrice Julius of Killeen, TX, Roosevelt Sirmons of Lakeland, GA, Rev.
