Mother Mary Louise Irvin Peeler

Mary Louise Irvin Peeler was born September 7, 1923, in Ray City, GA, to the late Isreal Irvin, Sr. and the late Rosie Lee Gaskins Irvin.

Mary was one of life’s best gifts. She was very honest, kind, loving, and polite. She was also a great cook. She created an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love for her family, friends, and neighbors. Mary had quite a sense of humor. Her house was filled with love and much laughter. In her presence was fullness of joy. She also loved her flowers.

Recognizing the importance of having God in her life, Mary joined Pleasant Temple Missionary Baptist Church in 1939, at the age of 16. Later in life, she joined Crossing Jordan Baptist Church. Her service to the church included   Ushering, Sunday School Teacher, and Mother of the Crossing Jordan Missionary Baptist Church. Mary remained faithful until her health would no longer allow.

On Tuesday, April 30, the Lord looked down upon the earth and saw His daughter’s precious face. He put His arms around her and lifted her toward her new heavenly place.

In addition to her parents, Isreal and Rosie Lee Irvin, Mary is preceded in death by her husband: Earnest Peeler, Sr.; and two sons: Robert Peeler and John Lee Peeler.

Mary leaves to mourn yet celebrate her life one son: Earnest Peeler, Jr of Clarksville, TN; three daughters: Verna Arnold, Donna Rockamore, and Gussie Smith all of Valdosta, GA; four sisters: Daisy Irvin Lane (Jeff) of Adel, GA, Euphina Irvin of Charleston, SC, April Irvin Cohen of St. Petersburg, FL, and Mae Irvin of Manchester, CT; one brother: Isreal Irvin, Jr of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a special sister: Daisy Lanea special niece: Dosha Gates of Valdosta, GA; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister-in-law; her Crossing Jordan Church family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mother Mary Louise Irvin Peeler will be Saturday, May 11, 2019, 11:00 a.m., Crossing Jordan Missionary Baptist Church, 1401 Cypress St. Valdosta, GA.

Dr. Ronnie Mathis is the pastor and will officiate.

Interment, Pallbearers Cemetery.

Public viewing, Friday, May 10, 2019, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Godfrey Funeral Home.
