Mother Ruth P. Berrian

Heaven has gained a precious angel!

Mother Ruth P. Berrian was born March 4, 1936, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Abel and Ethel Washington.

During her childhood years, she attended the Valdosta City School System and was a proud member of the graduating Class of 1955 of Dasher High School.

Mother Berrian had a caring heart. There was love in everything she did to make her family and friends lives worthwhile. Her works were warm and wise filled with kindness and compassion.

After receiving Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age, she became a God-fearing woman who loved the Lord with all of her heart, mind and soul. She served as a church mother at the Word of Oasis until God called her home.

In addition to her parents, the late Ethel and Abel Washington, she is preceded in death by two of her children: Bobbie Catherine Washington and A. Parnell Berrian.

Left to celebrate her life and remember precious memories are her husband of 64years, James M. Berrian; six children: Stanley Berrian of Valdosta, GA, James Berrian (Carla) of Tamerac, FL, Tracey Kelly of Valdosta, GA, Kenneth Berrian (Suzette) of Hahira, GA, Freddy Berrian (Stacey) of Valdosta, GA and Ethel Jackson (Vernon) of Valdosta, GA; one sister: Penney Myers of Ray City, GA; one brother: Keith Washington (Joyce) of Hahira, GA; four sisters-in-law: Florene Herring (Bishop Shade Herring), Margaret Johnson, Willar Davis and Yvonne Presley; one brother-in-law: Harldon Berrian (Sandra); eleven grandchildren: Antwon Berrian, Darrell Berrian, Chernitha Berrian, Eboni Redding (Rus), Kendall Berrian, Kwanisha Berrian, Tyrese Berrian, Keelin Berrian, Joshua Jackson, Jarvis Pierce and Greg McCray; a special nephew: Kyler Davis; two very special friends: Eula McRae and Diane Johnson, twelve great-grandchildren; in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mother Ruth P. Berrian will be Sunday, December 8, 2019, 2:00 p.m., Word of Oasis, 4034 Inner Perimeter Road, Valdosta, GA.

Interment, Southview Cemetery, Valdosta, GA.

Public viewing, Saturday, December 7, 2019, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Godfrey Funeral Home.
