Mother Marjorie Penny Nesmith

July 30, 1927 — April 8, 2019

Cecil

Mother Marjorie Penny NeSmith was born July 30, 1927, in Cook County, GA, to the late Annie Mae Walker Penny and the late Ory Penny.

As beautiful as a rose to see, was her life she lived so very gracefully. She girded herself with honor and strengthened her ability with patience. Recognizing her calling to care for children and loving people, Mother NeSmith used hospitality to minister to those around her and created an inviting atmosphere of warmth while fostering numerous children. Everything was made precious by her touch and her selfless love will continue to live on in each of us.

And the Lord knew Mother NeSmith, for He stayed right by her side through years of joy and plenty, pain and sorrow, hurt and pride. He helped her raise a family and gave her courage to go on. God blessed her with patience and hope, gave her strength when hers was gone. She loved God with all of her heart, mind and soul. She sought His will for her life and followed His ways.

On Monday, April 8, 2019 the Lord declared to Mother NeSmith, you have fought a good fight, you have finished your course, you have kept the faith, enter now into thou Master’s rest.

In addition to the parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Ernest NeSmith; her sisters: Evelyn Davis and Elizabeth Strong and her brothers: Kendall Penny, Sr., Vernon Penny, Sr., Otha Penny, Sr., and James Penny; four aunts as sisters: Georgia Orr, Pearline Alford, Edna Lane and Eva Mae Thomas.

Gathered to rejoice the life of this great matriarch are her six children: Annie Lois Pullins of Atlanta, GA, Marsha Miller and husband, Clenzy Miller, Sr. of Cecil, GA, Ronnie NeSmith, of Cecil, GA, Donnie and wife, Juanita NeSmith of Mesa, AZ, Patsy and husband, Willie J. Miller of Morven, GA, and LaQuita Thomas of Atlanta, GA; three sisters-in-law: Allene Manning of Cecil, GA, Lula Mae Penny of Miami, FL and Vernice Penny of Youngstown, OH; fifteen grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; her County Line Church family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
