Msgt Latonya Denise Dease

August 25, 1973 — July 24, 2014

Master Sergeant LaTonya Denise Dease entered the pearly gates on July 24, 2014 with her loved ones by her side.

She was born to Arthur and Josie Bellamy on August 25, 1973 in Grand Forks, ND. Sergeant Dease graduated from Conway High School (Conway, SC) in June 1991 and enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Public Health Technician in February 1997.

Sergeant Dease served in various assignments throughout her career to include: Langley AFB, Virginia (1997-2002); Spangdahlem AB, Germany (2002-2006) and Minot AFB, ND (2006-2011.) She was deployed to Thumrait AB, Oman (Oct 2001 – Jan 2002) and Al Dhafra, United Arab Kingdom (Dec 2010 – Jul 2011). She concluded her flawless career as a Flying Tiger Medic at Moody AFB in Valdosta,GA. She left her legacy of excellence behind at each and every assignment.

Throughout her travels, Sergeant Dease continuously sought the word of the Lord and surrounded herself with His children. While stationed in Bitburg, Germany, she became a member of Evangel Temple Fellowship (under the direction of Elder Tony McKenzie). She served faithfully as an usher until her reassignment to the Administrative Team, where she worked closely with the Pastor and other leaders to insure the business and financial aspects of the ministry ran smoothly. She also served as a member of the hospitality team and participated in the Married for Life ministry.

While stationed at Minot AFB, ND, Sergeant Dease became a member of Gospel Tabernacle Church of God in Christ (under the direction of Elder James W. Henderson). Sergeant Dease served as Superintendent, Sunday school, Wednesday night children’s teacher, Hospitality Committee, usher, and the women’s choir. She attained over 100 hours of Management/Leadership training and 20 hours during Teacher’s Training Workshops.

At Moody AFB, GA Sergeant Dease was a devout member of Tabernacle Church of God in Christ (under the direction of Superintendent Johnny Bradley). She served and supported many positions to include: Sunday School Secretary, Usher Board Member, Tabernacle Junior Mission, and Christmas Banquet Committee.

Sergeant Dease was preceded in death by her father, Master Sergeant Arthur Bellamy, her grandmother Ms. Zelline Tucker and her grandfather LeRoy Bellamy.

Sergeant Dease is survived by her husband Brian, phenomenal mother Josie Bellamy; sister LaMonica Brown (Ray), brothers Antoine (Alisha) and Johnathan; nephews Ray, Tajee, Jamir, Adrione, and Jayden; her favorite and only niece ZaJda; and beautiful Goddaughter Samantha; stand-in Mother, Ms. Rotha Mae Hunt, her grandmother, Ms. Aggie Louise Bellamy and Godsisters, Mrs. Cierra Longs and Ms. Ayanna Ward.

Sergeant Dease leaves behind a host of amazing Aunts and Uncles: Ms. Marcella Sherman, Ms. Rotha Hunt, Ms. Rosanne Sarvis (Lee), Ms. Zellamae Williams, Ms. Uretha Gaddy, Ms. Sandra Bellamy, Ms. Rosetta Davis, Ms. Diane Bellamy, Mr. Curtis Bellamy, Mr. Derrick Wallace and Mr. Roy Bellamy.

Also left to cherish MSgt Dease’s memories are her loving Brothers and Sisters in Christ and her Brothers and Sisters in Arms.

A memorial for MSgt Dease will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00am at the Hoffman Auditorium on Moody AFB. Interment will be held at Friendship Baptist Church in Conway, SC, on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:00pm.
