It is with deepest sympathy Godfrey Funeral Home announces, Nancy Lee Johnson, age 84, of Manchester, VT, formerly of Valdosta, GA, departed this life Thursday, May 8, 2025, after a brief illness.
She was born on March 30, 1941, in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Mr. Robert Lee Durden and Mrs. Nancy Bell Durden of Naylor, Georgia.
She was educated in the Lowndes County School system.
Nancy was married to the late Mr. Elex Johnson, and to this union was added one son: the late Mr. Alexander Johnson.
Nancy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manchester, VT, where she served as a member of the Deaconess Board, and taught Sunday School.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Arzetta Carter, Doris Johnson, Henrettia Carter, Patricia Roberts, and her brothers: Robert Lee Durden, Clifton Durden and Nathan Durden.
Nancy leaves to cherish her memories, one loving sister: Evelyn Johnson of Lakeland, Georgia; two grandchildren: Alexander Johnson and Eli Johnson, both of Manchester, VT.
The Graveside service for the late Nancy Lee Johnson will be Tuesday, June 24, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at St. Mary Baptist Church Cemetery in Naylor, GA.
Dr. Reginald Benjamin will be officiating.
