Norma Jean Tonsil

November 19, 1941 — July 4, 2014

Norma Jean Tonsil was born to the late Zack Tonsil, Sr. and the late Cassie B. Tonsil, November 19, 1941 in Lowndes County, Georgia.

Norma Jean was a graduate of Pinevale High School in 1961.

She was baptized at an early age at First Antioch Baptist Church where she was a member of the adult choir and served faithfully until her health failed.

She was employed by C.H. Mitchell’s BBQ for over 50years.

Norma Jean was a loving, devoted and humble lady. Always given to hospitality, generous with her possessions and her love. She was caring and thoughtful. Her life was full of loving deeds.

The Lord granted Norma Jean eternal rest Friday, July 4, 2014.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother: Thurman Tonsil.

Norma Jean leaves to cherish her memories, two brothers: Zack Tonsil, Jr. (Gloria) and Wallace Charles Holsendolph (Addie) of Valdosta, GA; two sisters: Lilly Johnson (Carl) and Elmira Carter of Valdosta, GA; a host of nieces and nephews: Minister Trellany Tonsil, Cassie Warren (Keith), Zack Tonsil III (Tavasha), Sheena Carter, Edward Carter, Carl Johnson II, Courtney Holsendolph and Tarrence Holsendolph; two special great-nieces: Jamayah Tonsil and Bria Tonsil; one special great-nephew: Brendan Tonsil;
and a host of family and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Ms. Norma Jean Tonsil will be held Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of First Antioch Baptist Church.

Rev. Albert Lee Barfield is the pastor.

Rev. Joseph Jones will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.
