Ozzie Lee Smith, Jr.

Ozzie Lee Smith, Jr., was born January 17, 1967, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Elouise Williams and Ozzie Lee Smith, Sr.

Known as “Ice House King” to many, Ozzie was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. He was always there for his family in time of need. He was a loving and devoted father to his daughter Trineshia and had a special love for his Aunt Carolyn. He provided for his family while being employed as a irrigation worker. He was also one of the best landscapers in town.

Ozzie was a man that stood firm in what he believed in and did not mind telling you the truth even if it would hurt your feelings or you did not want to hear it. He had the type of courage not to back down from a decision he made.

On Tuesday, February 26, Ozzie was granted eternal rest from his labor. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by three sisters; one brother and his grandparents: Authur Smith, Sr. and Lillie Bell Smith.

Left to celebrate his life and to cherish precious memories are his father: Ozzie Lee Smith Sr. of Valdosta, GA; his daughter: Trineshia Smith of Valdosta, GA; step-daughter: Felicia Kee (Timothy) of Palatka, FL; five sisters: Chelsea Brown (Jimmy), Ozziana Smith, Jelicia Williams (Freddie) Diana Smith, and Allison Smith; four brothers: Sheffield Smith, Richard Akins, David McNeal (Falen) and Brandon Grant; special aunt: Carolyn Murphy; aunts and uncles: Paul Smith, Ralph Smith, Molefi Keté Asante, Linda Washington, Sandra Woodard, Brenda Smith, Lucille Mitchell and Juanita Cannon; a cousin:  Abner Smith; best friends: Valgene Childs and Jimmy Brown; a special friend: Desmond Grant; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. Ozzie Lee Smith Jr. will be Saturday, March 9, 2019, 12:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of GracePoint Church, 2206 E. Hill Avenue, Valdosta, GA.

Pastor Dell Young is Senior Pastor and will officiate.

Interment, Pallbearers Cemetery, Valdosta, GA.

Public viewing, Friday, March 8, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.
