Pastor Lenora Billingsley

December 11, 1947 — November 15, 2013

Lenora Billingsley was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 11, 1947. She is the tenth of twelve children born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Billingsley, Sr. Seeking a better life for herself and her sons, Fonteyne and Marc, in 1973, Lenora moved to Asbury Park, NJ. It was there that her life would change forever. In 1975 Lenora met Sister Betty Gregg and after being witnessed to and prayer being offered on her behalf, in 1975, she was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and received the gift of the Holy Ghost.

She attended First Pentecostal Apostolic Church in Neptune, NJ, where she grew in the knowledge of God and accepted the call to the ministry under the pastorate of the late Reverend Geneva Crudup.

In 1976, Sister Billingsley moved back to Detroit to care for her ailing mother. As a result of her ministering and witnessing to her mother, she was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost and so did many other family members. Later that year, she moved back to New Jersey and continued working for the Lord in First Pentecostal, serving on many auxiliaries.

In 1981, Sister Billingsley moved to Pemberton, NJ, and in 1983 she assumed the role of Assistant Pastor of First Pentecostal Apostolic Mission in Pemberton.

In 2001 she began to pastor Chosen Generation Ministries of the Apostolic Faith out of her home and in 2004, she attained a life-long dream in visiting the country of Israel. In August 2006, due to health reasons and the leading of the Lord she moved to Valdosta, GA. In 2008, she once again began to pastor Chosen Generation Apostolic Church in Valdosta, GA.

Pastor Billingsley retired from the State of New Jersey after serving many years. She received an associate degree in Theology from Bread of Life Bible Institute.

Her mother and father, Timothy Sr., and Precious; 5 sisters, Ethel, Gloria, Ruth, Phyllis and Patricia; and one brother preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons: Fonteyne Johnston of Los Angeles, CA and Marc Johnston (Lynn) of Willingboro, NJ; three brothers: Timothy Billingsley, Jr. of Detroit, MI, Tyrone Billingsley (Juanita) of Sicklerville, NJ and Alarie Billingsley of Muskegon, MI; One brother-in-law: Logan Cunningham of Phoenix, AZ; four sisters: Shirley Lott of Baldwin, MI; Sierra Walker of Detroit, MI, Elene Gordon and Venus Durant of Fayetteville, NC; one special sister in-law: Maggie Billingsley; one adopted sister: Betty Gregg; one adopted daughter: Mary Gates; one granddaughter: Shayna Wilson of Atlanta, GA; one great aunt Essie Norman; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
