Robert Lee Seay was born March 24, 1948 in Quitman, GA, to the late John V. (Jake) Ponder and the late Rutha Lee Seay Golden.

Robert passed away August 28, 2013 at the age of 65. He was a graduate of Washington Street High School. He was employed by Nashville Mills retiring after 42 years of dedicated service.

He was a person of multiple talents and skills. Robert, fondly known as “Bonzo” made life- long friends, he was a very loving and hospitable person that loved his family and friends dearly. He was a strong believer in the Bible and in all of Jehovah’s promises of a paradise earth. Robert dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized February 29, 1992, thus publicly becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed the field ministry teaching others Bible truths; even during his illness he talked to everyone about Jehovah, including doctors, nurses, staff and visitors. Robert had the privilege of being a Ministerial Servant in the central congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with so many other privileges. He worked diligently on the Regional Building Committee and taking care of the house.

Robert was a faithful and dutiful Brother until death. Because of Robert’s intense love he embraced scores of people all around. His kind and loving spirit touched many lives. Robert took his last breath after listening to Song #85: “A Full Reward From Jehovah” - Matthew 19:29.

Robert married the love of his life, Saundra Seay, April 1, 1992. They spent 21 years of precious togetherness and LOVE for each other.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his grandfather: Turner Seay; grandmother: Reather Godfrey Seay; and special aunt: Addie Seay.

Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories, his devoted wife: Saundra Seay; four loving daughters: Sadaryl L. Peterson, Theclyn D. Seay of Valdosta, GA, Koi Johns of Columbia, SC, Tanesha M. McCrae of Atlanta, GA; sisters: Eddie Joe Seay of Quitman, GA, Wanda Washington (Elijah) of Lakeland, GA; brothers: John V. Ponder, Jr. (Jenie) of Homerville, GA, Steven Ponder of Lakeland, GA, Simon Ponder of Ocala, FL and Willie Ponder of Augusta, GA; loving mother in-law: Willie Bell Wolfe (Muh); special friends: Uster Anthony, Larry Bryant, John Whitaker and Isiah Whitfield; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his spiritual family.

The memorial service for the late Mr. Robert Lee Seay will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Forrest Street.
