Roger Royster, Jr

Roger Royster, Jr. was born on March 18, 1944, in Sylvester, GA. He was the first born of the late Roger Royster, Sr. and the late Fannie Lee Bishop.

On July 1, 1966, Roger united in matrimony to Mary Ellen Ledon, and to this union, three children were born: Alyssa Ledonna, Roderic Shawn, and Marcus Alexander.

Roger was called home to eternal peace on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Mary Ellen Royster; two sons: Roderic and Marcus Alexander, Sr; one grandson: Marcus Alexander, Jr.; Aunt: Hattie Bishop Mitchell; three brothers: Clarence Dixon (Ann), Larry Royster, Leonard Royster (Diane); five sisters: Faye McLaughlin, Dorothy Ferdinand (Richard), Velma Pompey, Cynthia Porter (Anthony), and Brenda Royster; two brothers in-law: Herbert Wells (Vermatine) and Patrick Shaw; four sisters in-law: Carletha Felton, Gail Ledon, Sylvia Evans (Herman), and Corliss Griffin (James); one goddaughter: Jessica Gray; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. Roger Royster, Jr., will be Tuesday, August 25, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at the chapel of Godfrey Funeral Home. Interment will follow, 1 p.m., at the Tallahassee National Memorial Cemetery, Tallahassee.

Public Viewing will be Monday, August 24, 2020, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Godfrey Funeral Home.
