Mrs. Rosa Lee Thomas

Rosa Lee Thomas was born March 07, 1929 to the late Mr. Abraham Seward and the late Frances Drye Seward Merchant in Lowndes County.

She joined the Irvin Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.

She was a former employee of Valdosta State University Food Service Department where she retired after 17 years of service.

On Thursday, August 22, 2013, Mrs. Rosa Lee Thomas left behind all the troubles of this world and went to be with the Lord.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, one sister, one brother and her husband, Isaac “Ike” Thomas.

Rosa Lee Thomas leaves to cherish her memories, four sons: Rev. Marrion Drye (Gloria) of Gainesville, FL, Ernest Thomas (Latrayer) of Orlando, FL, Donnell Thomas (Mavis) and Burnell Thomas of Valdosta, GA; two daughters: Min. Gail Drye Kennon (Michael) of Mulberry, FL and Barbara Thomas of Valdosta, GA; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one uncle: Frank Seward (Florina) of Jacksonville, FL, one step-sister: Katie Davis (Adell) of Gainesville, FL and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The homegoing celebration for the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Thomas will be held Saturday at 11:00am from the sanctuary of Irvin Hill Missionary Baptist Church.

Rev. Marrion Drye will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Irvin Hill Church Cemetery.
