Ruby Strickland was born August 4, 1948, in Gordon, AL, to the late Jimmy Felton and Annie Lee Thompson (Frank Johnson).
She was raised in Hamilton County, Jasper, FL, where she received her education and graduated from J.R.E. Lee High School. She worked at Levis Strauss Manufacturing Company for over twenty years. She later became employed by the Lowndes County Board of Education Transportation Department as a bus driver for over seven years.
On March 31, 1979, Ruby symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God. For over 36 years, she faithfully served Him. She enjoyed talking to others about Jehovah God and helping them to learn about the precious truths she had learned from the bible. She was one of the world’s best mother, sister, mother-in-law and friend that anyone could have. She will be greatly missed.
Ruby passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband: Leroy Strickland, Sr. and one brother: Terry Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons: Leroy Strickland, Jr. (Lisa) of Valdosta, Georgia and Steve Strickland (Taneisha) of Valdosta, Georgia; one sister: Betty Johnson of Jasper, Florida; two brothers: Frank Johnson (Beverly) of Mayo, Florida and Samuel Johnson (Marvine) of Jasper, Florida; two aunts: Mildred Jackson (Johnny) of St. Petersburg, Florida and Ora Pierce, whom she loved dearly; a special friend: Karen Johnson; a sister-in-law: Mary Johnson of Jasper, Florida; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend.
The memorial service for the late Mrs. Ruby Nell Strickland will be held Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00am in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 3030 Highway 41 Sth, Valdosta, GA.
