Elder Ruthie Nell Henderson was born October 10, 1936, in Lake Park, GA, to the late Beulah Mae Scott and the late Rev. Willie Henderson.
As a mother, grandmother and friend, Ruthie Nell was well-known by her warm and kind heart. She was a devoted mother and nurturer to many. Although soft-spoken, she opened her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue was the law of kindness.
She was a woman of worth who had an inner beauty that only comes from Christ. This beauty of holiness, caused her to be the well-dress lady she was with a sense of style who enjoyed fine dining. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and was a master in the kitchen. When not creating soulful dishes, she enjoyed reading in her spare time with the Bible being her favorite book.
Elder Ruthie Nell Henderson was a faithful prayer warrior. While attending Joyful Sound International Ministry, she was ordained as an Elder. Demonstrating the fruit of the spirit, she pursued peace by walking in humility and obeying the word of God.
On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, the Lord declared to His servant, “you have fought a good fight; you have finished your course and you have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for you a crown of righteousness.”
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister: Marie Davis and two brothers: Jessie Naye and David Scott, Jr.
Elder Henderson leaves her legacy of faith and love to her four children: Ava Tumbler (Stanley Smith) of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Henderson of West Palm Beach, FL, Roderick Henderson (Gena) of Sanford, FL and Shawn Henderson of Valdosta, GA; three sisters: Geraldine Scott, Alice Kier, and Delois Walker; four brothers: Willie L. Henderson (Roanne) Eugene Henderson, Samuel Henderson, and John Henderson; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; a special friend: Cynthia Newsome; special caregiver: Shontina Jackson; her Joyful Sound family and a host of extended family and friends.
