Sammie L. Turner

Sammie Lee Turner was born to the late Freddie Turner, Sr. and Erie Dell Rowe on January 08, 1947 in Madison, FL. On Saturday morning, November 05, 2011, the angels of the Lord silently came into Madison County Memorial Hospital and carried him home.

Sammie Lee was converted at an early age and joined New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where he was an active member until his health failed him.

He was united in holy matrimony to Geraldine Pridgeon October 27, 1989, who precedes him in death.

In addition to his parents and wife, Sammie was also preceded in death by two brothers Jim Rowe and Barney Turner and two sisters: Evelyn Coley and Mary L. Turner.

Those left to cherish his fond memories are his six sons: Sandy (Belinda) Turner, Dewayne Turner, Sylvester Robinson, Jr. of Madison, FL, Eric (Teaktha) Turner of Lake City, FL, Deyon (Tyronda) Turner of Valdosta, GA, and Michael Robinson of Jacksonville, FL; four daughters: Rebecca Turner, Debra Turner,Sasha Turner and Jasmine Turner all of Madison, FL; one loving and devoted sister: Carol Ann Turner of Madison, FL; nine brothers: Freddie Turner, Sr., Raymond Turner, Sr., of Lake City, FL; John Turner of Mitchville, MD, Sandy Turner, Calvin Turner, Joe (Mary) Rowe, Edward (Sandra) Rowe, Tommie Lee (Linda) Turner, and James (Debra) Turner all of Madison, FL; three aunts: Clara Mae (Jessie) Davis, Hattie Mae Willis and Maebelle Jones all of St. Petersburg, FL; two uncles: Pilot Willis, Jr. and Freddie Lee Henderson of St. Petersburg, FL; one great-aunt: Edna Willis of St. Petersburg, FL; a devoted niece: Salina Barfield; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a special friend: Valerie Givens; a loving and dear friend: Larry Solomon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends.

The homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Joe Rowe, Jr. will officiate. Rev. James Shaw is the pastor.

Burial will follow at the St. Luke Cemetery in Madison, FL.
