Stanley D. Marshall

Stanley Devell Marshall, age 51,was born October 05, 1962, in Lowndes County, GA, to the late James P. Marshall and Treaser Jones Marshall.

He graduated in1980 from Lowndes High School in Valdosta, GA and joined the U.S. Army in March 1981. He was stationed in Oklahoma as a Combat Telecom Center Operator. During his time in the US Army he earned several decorations including a Good conduct metal; 2nd AWD/Army Achievement Metal, 1st OLC/Army Service ribbon, Overseas Service ribbon, Professional Development ribbon, Marksmanship badge riffle, M-16, Expert marksmanship badge grenade. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in February 1987. He later became self-employed.

He began his eternal rest on Monday, July 7, 2014.

In addition to his farther, he was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Marshall.

Stanley leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Latasha Harden of Tifton GA; grandchild, Ahmani Scruggs; sister, Carolyn Brown and brother in-law Fred Brown of Valdosta, GA; brother, Timothy Marshall and sister in-law Paula Marshall of Powder Springs, GA; niece, Kamika Brown of Columbus, GA; nephews, Thomas Brown of Atlanta GA, Jordan Marshall and Mason Marshall of Powder Springs, GA; Great grandmother, Rosetta Register, Valdosta, GA; aunts, Pearl Mitchell(James), Bertha Shannon(Robert), Grace Jones Valdosta, GA; Phylllis Jones, Washington, DC; Minnie Marshall, NJ; Thelma Brown, Irvington, NJ; Florance Flemming, Richmond VA; Uncles, Lewis Jones(Glenda) Hinesville, GA; Author Jones(Pat), Belfast Maine; devoted cousins and caregivers, Daymon Gunter of Marietta, GA and Veronica Neloms of Decatur GA; close devoted family friends Lucy Jones, Makita Jones , Charles and Linda ”Pie” Jackson and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Stanley D. Marshall will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014, at 2:00p.m. from the sanctuary of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 3488 Engberg Ave., Valdosta, GA.

Rev. George Blunt, is pastor and will officiate.
