Ms. Tammy Cheryl Lewis

December 16, 1971 — February 10, 2015

Tammy Cheryl Lewis was born on December 16, 1971 in Valdosta, GA to Archie Charles Lewis Sr. and Sharon K. Lewis.

She attended Valdosta City Public Schools, where she was an active member of the Valdosta High School Marching Band and the dance team. She furthered her education by attending Oakwood College in Huntsville, AL, and Valdosta State University, Georgia Military College, and Valdosta Technical College which are all located in Valdosta, GA.

Tammy was a veteran of the United States Navy. She was employed by Valdosta City Schools.

She is preceded in death by her son Matthew Daniel Lewis; her grandparents Rev. Lona Flucas & Gladys Jones Flucas, Rev. Daniel Lewis, and Kirk. G. Russell; and her aunt Danielle Mae Fridge.

She is survived by her parents Archie Charles Lewis Sr. & Sharon Katrina Lewis; her brother Archie Charles Lewis Jr. (Laverne); a niece Jamesia; grandmothers Lona Mae Monroe, Johnnie Mae Lewis, and Eileen Russell; special aunts: Pat Burks, Ella Lewis, Elaine Lewis, and Suzzane Cooks; special uncles: Nathaniel Burks and Johnny Lewis; special cousins Shewanna Newton & Nathaniel Newton, Thelma Thomas & Roosevelt Thomas, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A special “thank you” to Gracie Beacon, Janneth Lester, Dr. Lynn Lee & Staff, and her church family at Grace Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The celebration of life for the late Ms. Tammy Cheryl Lewis will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015, at 2:00pm from the sanctuary of Grace Fellowship Seven Day Adventist Church.

Pastor Winston Taylor will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.

The Wake Service for the late Ms. Tammy Cheryl Lewis will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel. The public is invited to attend and may submit words of reflections and/or encouragement.
