Life Story:
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven...
Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Time to be Born:
It was a blessing when Terry, a healthy baby boy, was born to Betty Jean Thomas Young and the late Charles Oscar Young.
A Time to seek Knowledge:
Terry was educated in the Dade County Public School System and graduated from Norland Senior High School in 1979 with excitement and high expectations for success at The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. A Time to Love:
Terry was often called a “Mama’s Boy”, finally , he met Carolyn Francis and fell in love with her and son, Ernie, whom he loved dearly.
A Time to Work:
Terry worked for the Veterans Administration.
A Time of Peace:
Peace for Terry meant family gatherings, vacations, “Thanksgiving”, and becoming an intricate part of the lives of his nieces, nephews, and Ernie. During his early adult life, he spent time in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with an uncle he idolized, Wilbur Thomas.
A Time to Mourn:
Terry’s life was not only filled with joy but also touched with sorrow of the death of his late father, Charles O. Young, at thirteen; the loss of his beloved grandparents, Sam and Maggie Thomas; all within six months in 1973; a beloved uncle and aunt, Ralph and Myrtice Thomas; aunt “Tweet”, Eva A. Stephens; and peer cousin, Wanda R. Harris.
Terry departed this early life, April 28, 2013, the angels came to carry him home to be with the Lord. His battles are over. He made many accomplishments on this earth and now is ready to receive the highest reward from the Lord. His voice has been hushed from our ears; yet, our hearts can still hear a whisper, ‘God, wants me now, please don’t grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still. Try to look beyond earth’s shadows and pray to trust our Father’s will.”
