Mrs. Theresa Joy Williams

Mrs. Theresa “Tee” Joyce Williams was born on November 26, 1956 to the late Lee Williams and Betty Jean Yearby in Columbus, GA.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the Late James Ellis Williams Jr. for 40 years and to this union 3 beautiful children were born. She received her education from Pinevale School, in Valdosta, GA.

At an early age Theresa received Christ.

Theresa was employed with the Wild Adventures Company in Valdosta, GA for many years. Theresa was a loving, devoted and passionate wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, big sister, aunt, and friend. Theresa lived her life with an open heart and open door policy to her family and friends. She was a joy to be around and was loved by all.

She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 40 years James E. Williams, her dad Lee Williams; and great and devoted step father John Wesley Yearby; Stepson Larry Richardson; Grandparents Peter & Rosetta Black; and a brother Greg Yearby.

She leaves to cherish her Memories her loving and devoted children; Stacey (Matthew) Daniels, Terrell & Corey Williams all of Valdosta GA. Her step children Shelia (Charles) Hooper & Barbara Jean (Clifford); she was also the God mother of Anthony Bynes, Benjamin Cater, Gerod Grooner, and Tony Yearby Jr., her loving and devoted mother Betty Yearby of Valdosta, GA, one sister Tanya (Curtis) Nealy. Lake Park, GA, six brothers, Bennie (Orwanda Faye) Black of Albany, GA Lee (Bernice) Williams, Earl (Christine) Williams, James (Joyce) Yearby, Tony (Krystal) Yearby, all of Valdosta, GA and Danny (Myrtice) Yearby of Moultrie, GA. The Apple of Theresa”’ eyes her five grandchildren: Shanice, Teronda, Arienne, Keshonda, and Kamar. two great grand babies and one on the way: Xavier, Jaliah, and Addison. three loving Aunts: Lucille Carter, Francis (Johnny) Moore of Miami, Fla. And Joanne (Joseph) Bell of Oakridge, Tennessee. one uncle, Charles (Patricia) Black and a great uncle Frank (Martha) Jones of Valdosta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Memorial Service for the late Mrs. Theresa Joy Williams will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 1:30pm in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.

Apostle Darren Yearby will officiate.
