Thomas J. Young was born to the late Elmore and Dellis Tehart Young on June 04, 1945 in Delmar, Georgia.
At an early age, he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour.
From the moment of his birth, it was apparent that Thomas James Young was “Built Ford Tough!” He loved the outdoors and was a hard worker. His tough, strong hands provided for his family whom he loved very much. When not working, he could be found relaxing with a cold Pepsi in his hands. A man of few words, Thomas was a living of example of James 1:19 which says, “...let every one be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.”
On July 13, 2013, the Lord granted Thomas eternal rest.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Eddie Young, Sr., Rev. Ozell Young, Sr. and Freddie Young, one sister : Annie F. Young and one niece: Lasandra Homer.
Thomas leaves to cherish his memories, two daughters: Debra Young and LaToya Young both of Valdosta, GA; one brother: Leroy Young; four sisters: Dorothy (Joseph) Burgman, Margaret (Marvin) Belcher, and Mary (David) Mitchell, all of Valdosta, GA and Flora Homer of Atlanta, GA; two sisters in-law; Verlene Young and Christine Young; five grandchildren: Damond Willis, Darrell Young, Devonta Young, Lamarius Workman, Jr., and Latavia Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and the staff of Crestwood Nursing Home.
The homegoing celebration for the late Mr. Thomas J. Young will be held Friday, July 19 at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of St. Mark MBC.
Dr. John H. Manning will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Harrington Rest Cemetery.
