Ms. Tonya Delaone Durden

Tonya Delaone Durden was born January 10, 1967, in Adel, Georgia, to James Turner and Minister Patricia Frazier.

She received her education in the Cook County School System and graduated from Cook County High School. She was employed by Sunset Farms in Valdosta, GA.

Tonya was Ms. Personality. She had a way of filling a room with life and laughter. She had a captivating smile and heart. She used her creativity and sense of style to create beauty in her life and the lives of her loved ones. Tonya was also a strong, hard-working woman who worked diligently to provide for her family. She was a blessing and gift, a treasure like no other.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2015, God looked around His garden and found an empty place; He then looked down upon the earth and saw Tonya’s precious face. He put His arms around her and lifted her unto eternal rest.

She is preceded in death by her one and only son: SSG Briand Williams and her grandparents: Otis Durden, Sr. and Gladys Durden.

Tonya leaves cherished memories to her three daughters: Kyra Durden(Charles) Jordan, Tinieshia Flippen, and Tayana Mays, all of Valdosta, GA; her mother: Min. Patricia Frazier of Valdosta, GA; her father: James (Mary) Turner of Hahira, GA; her seven sisters: Yolanda Durden of Sparks, GA, Tarrell (Alvin) Durden of Albany, GA, April Turner of Tifton, GA, Eula Turner of Hahira, GA, Samantha Turner of Hahira, GA, Hallegh Turner of Hahira, GA, and Jacklin Turner of Tifton, GA; five brothers: Earl Robinson of New Brunswick, NJ, Bernard Turner of Cartersville, GA, Reginald Turner of Hahira, GA, Gary Turner of Hahira, GA, and James Turner, Jr. of Hahira, GA; aunts and uncles: Vickie Walton of Valdosta, GA, Carolette Durden of Adel, GA, Otis Durden, Jr. (Joyce) of Adel, GA, Anthony Durden of Adel, GA, Vance Durden of Adel, GA, Donnie Durden of Adel, GA, and Jamie Battle of Adel, GA; ten grandchildren fondly called her “grandmonkies”; special friends: Tammie Brown and Steve Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Ms. Tonya D. Durden will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00am at the Cook County Middle School Gymnasium in Sparks, GA.

Pastor George Horne will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
