Vivian Bernette Sirmans

Vivian Bernette Sirmans was born on January 21, 1955 in Lakeland, GA, to the late Frank and Lillie Johnson Sirmans.

She was educated in the East Orange Public School System and graduated from East Orange High School.

Vivian was “Auntie” to everyone she met. She stretched out her hand to the poor, her heart to the needy and her love to her family. She was a giver of herself and considered her own desires last. Vivian was a strong black woman, who did not mind voicing her opinion—and if your opinion did not agree with hers, the response was simply, “Tell your story walking.” She was jazzy, loving, energetic and extremely funny. Vivian was indeed “the life of the party.” A heartwarming smile was hers until the Lord called her beautiful soul to rest on Sunday, November 10, 2013.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers: Benjamin, Thomas and John Sirmans and two sisters: Sara Jean Gordon and Lillie L. Sirmans.

Vivian leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving and devoted daughter: Chelsea Thomas (Dallas) of Lakeland, GA; three grandchildren (her babies): Kyonna Sirmans of Lakeland, GA, Dedrick Sirmans Sr. of Valdosta, GA and Dallas Thomas Jr. of Lakeland, GA; four great-grandchildren: Jordan, Dylan, Dedrick Jr and Deylan; three sisters: Lodinetta Sirmans of Union, NJ, Phobie Rose of Jacksonville, FL and Bernadette Scott (Stanley) of Hephzibah, GA; one aunt: Ruth Thomas; two sisters in-law: Ophelia Sirmans and Pearl Sirmans; special friend: Robert Doss; and host of very, very, special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Ms. Vivian Bernette Sirmans will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00am from the sanctuary of New Bryant Baptist Church in Lakeland, GA.

Pastor Jasper Daniels will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Lovejoy Cemetery in Stockton, GA.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 15, 2013 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at New Bryant Baptist Church in Lakeland, GA.
