Wanda Davis Ghee was born June 20, 1962 in Homerville, GA, to Dorothy Davis and the late Jay Dee Davis, Sr.
She was educated in the Lanier County School System and the Valdosta City School System.
Wanda was a loving and caring daughter, mother, and friend. Those who knew and loved her will always remember her special smile filled with sunshine, that lit up a room. There was kindness and compassion to be found in her embrace. As a mother, there was love in everything she did to make her two sons lives worthwhile who held a prime place in her heart.
On Sunday, August 28, God knew Wanda was suffering and He knew she was in pain. He knew she would never get well on earth again. So He closed her weary eyelids, and whispered, “peace be thine” and granted her eternal rest with hands so gentle and kind.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents; two sisters: Margie Lundy and Debbie Davis; and one brother: Kevin Davis.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons whom she loved and adored: Terrell Ghee and Devin Ghee of Lakeland, GA; husband: John Ghee, Jr. of Valdosta, GA; one step-son: Christopher Ghee; one grandson: Devin Ghee, Jr (“Lil D”); a devoted mother and care-taker: Dorothy Davis of Valdosta, GA; one sister: Cheryl Gates of Valdosta, GA; two brothers: Jay Davis, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Robert Davis of Valdosta, GA; her two aunts: Jeronia Gordon (Clifford) of Stockton, GA and Lois Johnson of Valdosta, GA; one uncle: Larry Graham (Linda) of Homerville, GA; one great-aunt: Carrie Foster of Valdosta, GA; special niece: Crystal Roberts; special friends: Johnny Berrian, Sherrie and John Heigler, the Lamb family, Debra Dixon, Donna McCutchin, Barbara Thomas and Austin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Special thanks to the staff and doctors of Hospice of South Georgia who treated her with such great care and support.
