Waymon Wright, Sr., was born September 8, 1946 to the late Emma Wright Bines and the late Columbus Wright in Valdosta, GA.
He was educated in the Valdosta City Schools and later made the choice to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. After serving his country, he returned back to Valdosta and was employed by Metal Products where he retired.
On Friday, August 23, 2013, Waymon made his life ending transition.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father: Elder Franklin Bines, Jr.,; two brothers: O.D. Wright and Johnny Wright; one sister: Leila Williams; former wife: Mable Wright and one son: Waymon Wright, Jr.
Waymon leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Evelyn Wright-Spencer, Jerome Wright (Sondra), Deidral Morrison, Portrina Jones (Willie) and Waymon Wright III (Juanita), son in- law: James Spencer; 15 grandchildren: Santana, Wesley, Quindilyn, Amanda, Jerome Jr., Tocarra, Lateisha, Shakayla, Kevin, Kim, Rachelle, Shekiah, Erin, Tia, and Aliyah; 16 great-grandchildren; a special friend: Dwight (Wade) Muhammad, and a hosts of nieces and nephews.
The homegoing celebration for the late Mr. Waymon Wright, Sr. will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 3:00pm from the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Temple Baptist Church.
Rev. Bernard Robinson Sr. is the pastor.
Rev. Harry Campbell will officate.
Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
