Mr . Willie “Duke” Alfred Anderson was born August 5, 1952, in Valdosta, GA, to the late Helen Bellamy (William) and the late George Smith.

Mr. Anderson, “Duke”, was a man of great faith and loved the Lord. He loved his family and friends and people in general. He was loyal to all that came into his path. He was truly a Godfather to many. His door was always open to anyone in need. His generosity will never be forgotten. Duke loved his sports! He loved the Valdosta Wildcats, Green Bay Packers, L.A Lakers and the Atlanta Braves. He will truly be missed by many.

Mr. Anderson transitioned to eternal rest on Thursday, December 16, 2021.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grand-parents: Ulyses Anderson and Willie Mae Anderson; son: Trumaine Jackson Anderson; aunts: Eloise Frazier, Cora Lee Prime, Minnie Martin, Mary Alice “Beaver” Robinson, Wesley Mae “Sue” McGill; and uncles: Arthur Freeman and Peter Freeman.

Mr. Anderson leaves to celebrate his life and carry on his legacy of great faith and love to his wife: Deborah Anderson; his children: Natasha Brooklin (Walter) of Rincon, GA, Kasha Haywood (Jesse) of Stafford, VA, Harvey Daniel of Newport News, VA and Brandi Anderson (Joseph) of Newport News, VA; three sisters: Phyliss Nesmith, Curtisene Marshall and Helen Williams; six brothers: Larry Smith, Harry Smith, Eddie Smith, Johnny Bellamy, John Bellamy and Anthony Bellamy; uncles: Ulysses “Church” Anderson and Curtis Anderson; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; best friends: Arthur Adams and Jimmy Watson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Public viewing will be Thursday, December 23, 2021, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Godfrey Funeral Home.

All those who wish to pay their respect in person must wear mask at the public viewing.
