Willie M. Collier, Jr.

October 21, 1930 — July 26, 2012

Willie M. Collier Jr., also known as “Mayo”, was born October 21, 1930 in Lowndes County, Georgia. He is the second child born of the late Willie Collier, Sr. and the late Verlie Mae Smith Collier.

He married Marjorie Berrien in 1950 and to this union nine children were born.

Willie departed this life on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

He was preceded in death by two children: Henry and Darlene; a grandson: Greg; a brother: Edward; two sisters: Augustine and Geneva; brothers-in-law: Warren, Larry, Isaac, Samuel, John, Howard and George; and sisters-in-law: Mattie Ruth, Lillie Mae, Ruby Lee and Rosa Lee.

In addition to his wife, he is surved by his daughters: Donna (Herman), Barbara (Richard), Sandra, Cathy (Robert), Angela, and Robin; sons: Charles and James; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters: Julia Collier and Betty Wells (William); sisters-in-law: Alice, Carrie, Margaret and Louise; brothers-in-law: Lewis and Elbert; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, caring friends at the assisted living home and many wonderful associates throughout the city.

The homegoing service for Mr. Willie M. Collier, Jr. will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 11:00am from the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.

Bro. Zebedee Moore will preside. Bro. Leroy Butler, Jr. will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Antioch Cemetery.
