Mrs. Willie Mae (Sirmans) Hitson of Statenville, Georgia passed away Friday, May 29, 2020.

She was born June 9, 1932 to the late Johnnie Sirmans, Sr. and the late Lizzie (Thomas) Sirmans in Milledgeville, Georgia

She was married to the late Johnnie Clinton Hitson, Sr. for 63 years until his death in 2016.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Johnnie C. Hitson, Sr.; parents: Johnnie and Lizzie Sirmans; one son: Johnnie C. Hitson, Jr. “Dank”; two brothers: Frankie Sirmans and Johnnie Sirmans, Jr.; five sisters: Odessa Henry, Gladys Evans, Thelma Sims, Ruth Voss and Dorothy Sirmans

She is survived by two sons: Nicholas Hitson (JoAnn) of Statenville, Ga. and Marvin Hitson, Sr. of Phoenix City, Ala.; four daughters: Peggy Gandy of Statenville, Ga., Ruby Rogers (Ervin) of Morven, Ga., Shirley Linton (Charles) of Ray City, Ga. and her youngest daughter, Alisha Jones of Statenville, Ga.; one stepdaughter: Vivian Davies (Charles) of Atlanta, Ga.; four brothers-in-law: Lamar Hitson of Statenville, Ga., Alvin Hitson of Lake City, Fla., Thomas Richardson of Statenville, Ga. and Joe Buddy Hayes of Miami, Fla.; two sisters-in-law: Rosa Lee Sirmans of Lakeland, Ga. and Gloria Hitson of Valdosta, Ga.; one special devoted friend: Gordie Mae Thomas of Statenville, Ga.; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and surrounding friends.

Graveside Services for the late Mrs. Willie Mae Hitson will be Saturday, June 6, 2020, 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Bishop James Smith will officiate.

Public Viewing will be Friday, June 5, 2020, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

All those who wish to pay their respects in person must wear a facial mask during visitation and at graveside services.

Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.godfreyfuneralhome.net.

Due to COVID-19, Godfrey Funeral Home will be enforcing social distancing and following the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines .
