Willie Maxwell Jr. was born July 29, 1955, to the late Willie Maxwell Sr. and the late Mary Lou Maxwell McGee.

Willie was a kind man with a quite a sense of humor. When in his company, it was a guarantee he was going to make you laugh. He was caring and did not mind helping those in need. His presence was a source of peace, joy and love. He was a man with strong determination and work ethics. He was a hard-worker. Willie was a adventurous and knew how to enjoy life and lived his life freely.

Willie quietly departed this life Monday, December 21, 2020.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia A. Maxwell.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Katrina N. Maxwell, Cedric J. Maxwell, Regina Maxwell and Lita L. Mitchell, all of Valdosta, GA, three sisters: Williose Hobbs, Artie B. Sloan and Anna Davis, all of Valdosta, GA; one brother: Wilbert Turner of Valdosta, GA, eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Celebration of Life graveside service for the late Mr. Willie Maxwell, Jr., age 65, of Valdosta, GA, will be Sunday, January 3, 2021, 3:00 p.m., at the Pallbearers Cemetery, located 2660 Riverside Road, Valdosta, GA.

Pastor Tony Jackson will officiate.

Public viewing will be Saturday, January 2, 2020, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Godfrey Funeral Home.

All those who wish to pay their respect in person must wear a mask during the visitation and at the graveside service.
