Willie Mae McFadden was born August 31, 1938 in Valdosta, GA to the late Oscar and Hester Thomas. She was educated in the Valdosta City School System.
She worked at Coastal Plains as a Social Outreach Caseworker. She loved people and loved doing whatever it took to make them happy. She managed the Hope Center where their motto was: “Where there’s hope, there’s love.” After retiring from the Hope Center, she started her antique business. She was passionate about collecting antiques, vintage clothing and jewelry. She loved and understood beauty and art. She was an antique dealer and business owner until she retired in 2013.
She was an avid reader and spent a lot of time researching things she did not know or understand. She loved a good laugh, but did not hesitate to speak her mind, and knew how to “push a few buttons”! She will be fondly remembered as a woman who loved and took care of her children as well as an aesthete and connoisseur of antiques and art.
