Willie Lee McKeithen was born to the late Diveola and Essie Bell McKeithen, December 28, 1946, in Twin Lakes, GA.
He grew up in Twin Lakes and attended the Lowndes County Public School System and was a proud graduate of Westside High School in Valdosta, GA.
Willie later joined the United States Army to serve his country in the Vietnam War. After his call of duty to war, he continued serving in the Army National Guard in Fort Benning, GA. Later he became employed by Georgia Atlanta Natural Gas Company as a Gas Meter Reader for well over 40years.
On Monday, August 14, the Lord decided that Willie’s time of service was complete and granted him eternal rest.
In addition to his parents, his is preceded in death by three sons: William, Willie, Jr., and Calvin McKeithen; three sisters: Willie Mae Monroe, Margerite McKeithen and Annie Catherine Adams; two brothers: Robert Johnson, Sr. and B.F. Johnson; two nephews: Neil McKeithen and Stevie Lewis; and two nieces: Paula Thomas and Angela Thomas.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted daughter: Michelle McKeithen of Valdosta, GA; one son whom he loved: Quinton Clements of Valdosta, GA; one sister: Ella Mae McKeithen of Valdosta, GA; his five nephews: Dickie, Laronne, Sean, David, and Aciano; six nieces: Felicia, Carmen, Dorothy, Rachel, Ruth and Joy; his eight grandchildren: Porsche, Jessica, Calvin, Yasmine, Shayla, Michael, Calvin, and Satriea; eight great-grandchildren; five special friends: Charles Pascal, Grant Crumitie, Jr., John Smith, Ralph Delk, and Curtis Williams; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. Willie Lee McKeithen will be held Monday, August 21, at 1:00pm in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.
Pastor J. Bernard Braswell II will officiate
Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery
Public viewing will be held Sunday, August 20,from 12:00pm - 6:00pm at Godfrey Funeral Home.
