Mr. Willie James Williams

Willie James Williams was born December 14, 1918 in Barney, GA, to the late Henry Williams and the late Leila Mae Sharper.

Willie James Williams fondly called “Pappy” was a jack of all trades and a hard worker. The legacy he leaves to his children is simply this, “if any will not work, neither should he eat.” “Pappy” was a man of full of life, friendly, and very out-going. He never met a stranger and always left a lasting impression. He was noble and honest. If he said it, you could count on it.

“Pappy” was a family man who loved his children, especially his grandchildren.

On Friday, May 1, 2015, Willie James Williams took flight on the wings of a dove, bidding farewell to all of those he loved.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife: Helen C. Ferrell; two sisters: Juanita Corbett and Vernita Woods; and one brother: Leroy Godfrey.

He leaves his legacy of love and precious memories to his children: Sylvia Johnson of Hahira, GA, Iris Elaine Ferrell (Zane) of Valdosta, GA, Willie Joseph Ferrell (Ashley) of Valdosta, GA, Calvin Henry Ferrell (Shambrica) of Valdosta, GA, Billy Morris Ferrell (Sabrina) of Jasper, FL, James Williams of Orlando, FL and Eugene Williams of Homerville, GA; one brother: Theartis Sharper (Leila) of Valdosta, GA; one special neice: Estella Thomas; five special grandchildren: Jason (Jay) Robinson, Kevin (Heavy D) Ferrell, Zion (Zi-Man) Ferrell, Zirion (Zee Zee) Ferrell and Jennifer (Jen Jen) Pierce; special friends: Altamese “Sister” Sprolden, Jerry Robinson and Johnny Rowe; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life for the late Mr. Willie James Williams will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00am in the Godfrey Funeral Home Chapel.

Bro. Eugene Godfrey will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mayday Cemetery in Mayday, GA.
