Yvonne Willis Brown

December 21, 1960 — July 8, 2018

Valdosta

Yvonne Willis Brown was born December 21, 1960, in Valdosta, GA to Annie Lois Peeples and the late William Matchett.

She was educated in the Valdosta City School System and was a proud member of the 1980 graduating class of Valdosta High School. Yvonne was a vibrant and feisty woman of God who never met a stranger and greeted everyone with her favorite phrase: “Heey!” No matter what she was faced with, her response would be the same: “I’m gone be alright.” Yvonne was a Titus 1 woman: lover of hospitality, sober, just, holy and temperate. She held fast to the faithful word of God which she had been taught. Given to hospitality, as instructed in Romans 12, she met the needs of her family and friends. In her kitchen, not only did she serve a good meal for your body, she also served a good meal for your soul by sharing the good news of the gospel. She was a virtuous woman who served and loved God with all of her heart, mind, and soul. Yvonne was fully committed to God. Every morning she would read Psalm 23 and 91 followed with prayer seeking the will of God for her life as she followed His ways.

On Sunday, July 8, 2018, the Lord declared unto His faithful servant, “you will now rest from your labor and arise to your inheritance. Well done thy good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Master.”

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband: John Brown; one sister: Dorothy Ann Matchett; and her grandparents: Mary Scott, Willie Scott, Wesley Matchett, and Maggie Matchett.

Yvonne leaves to mourn yet cherished precious memories to her dear parents: Annie Lois Peeples, Ernest Peeples and Dorothy L. Matchett, all of Valdosta, GA; her two children whom she loved and adored: John T. Brown (Valerie) and Clint Q. Brown, both of Valdosta, GA; three sisters: Sandy Patrick (Kendrick Sr), Felicia Matchett and Virginia Howell, of Valdosta, GA; two brothers: William Matchell, Jr (Latasha Jackson) of Valdosta, GA and Lorenzo Matchett of Atlanta, GA; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister-in-law; one brother-in-law; her Ray of Hope Christian Center family; and a loving host of aunts,             uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends
