Henry Cortez Bryant

Mr. Henry Cortez Bryant was born March 3, 1940, in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Henry Bryant, Sr. and the late Frances Arnold Bryant.

Henry was a wonderful man, loved by all. He was very friendly and got along with everyone. In his leisure time, Henry loved attending to his yards and didn’t mind doing anything he could for anyone. He had a sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. Henry spent most of his career years working at the Papermill in Clyattville.

On Friday, May 25, 2018, at the age of 78, God granted Henry rest from this earth while receiving care at the Langdale Hospice House, Valdosta, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in by his beloved wife: Mrs. Curtis Jean Bryant; one sister: Francena Brown; and one brother: Ralph Bryant.

Survivors left to remember Henry’s love and legacy include his three children: Sonja Yvette Howell (Kirby) of Orlando, FL, Henry Bernard Sherman of Columbus, MS, and Calvin Jerome Davis (Annie Fay) of Alma, GA; one sister: Glory Shaw of Branford, CT; a special grandson: Anthony Sherman of Valdosta, GA; special nephew: Mike Denson of Valdosta, GA; special niece: Athea Silva of Branford, CT; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; nine sisters in-law; nine brothers in-law; and a host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

The Celebration of Life for the late Mr. Henry Cortez Bryant will be Saturday, June 2, 2018, 2:00 p.m. from the sanctuary of St. Paul A.M.E. Church, located 419 S. Ashley Street, Valdosta.

The Reverend Billy Graham McFadden will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
